CathedralCare has a team of highly skilled in-house practitioners through Aegis Therapies. Therapy sessions are available seven days a week to restore health after:

  • orthopedic surgery for back, hip, knee, shoulder injuries, or joint replacement
  • cardiac surgery or heart-related illnesses
  • stroke or other neurological conditions

We utilize specialized clinical protocols to address diseases such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s. In addition, our certified therapists take advantage of the latest therapeutic modalities to treat falls and balance issues, urinary incontinence, dysphagia, and other complex conditions.

Physical Therapy

During your recovery, physical therapists will create an individualized plan and work with you to:

  • restore mobility, balance, gait and confidence
  • improve circulation and flexibility
  • reduce pain
  • help to prevent further falls, injury or illness

Our spacious physical therapy gym is outfitted with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, more than most skilled nursing facilities.

Occupational Therapy

Restoring and enhancing daily living abilities is key to your recovery. Helping you care for yourself again, from dressing and bathing to developing cooking and homemaking skills, is the goal of our occupational therapists. The familiar home-like setting of CathedralCare’s fully-equipped kitchen helps promote your return to independence.

Speech and Language Therapy

Speech pathologists will assess and treat any voice or speech deficits or impairments. Our therapists also address and care for any swallowing problems you might experience.

The long-term employees comprising our team of experienced Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants are a continuing source of pride at CathedralCare.

Our staff includes two full-time wound specialists who treat pressure ulcers and other skin care needs. Care for related health issues including dental, vision and podiatry is arranged by our staff.

Throughout the week, physicians, nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants are on duty, joined by University of Florida medical school residents. CathedralCare is a teaching facility for Florida nursing, therapy, and healthcare administration students, reflecting our reputation for high quality care.
